Who This Studio Works Well For
A studio is a single space, so it suits one occupant, or a couple who are comfortable sharing an open-plan layout. The combination of a fixed all-inclusive rent, a furnished interior and no fixed minimum term makes it particularly straightforward in a few situations.
- Professionals relocating to Luxembourg who need a home from day one, without setting up electricity and internet contracts
- Employees on a CDI or CDD who want a fixed monthly cost with no year-end utility adjustment
- Consultants, contractors and staff on assignment, where the end date is not yet fixed
- Interns and trainees on placements of a few months
- Cross-border and international arrivals who want to be next to the station while they decide where to settle
- Anyone who wants private outdoor space and a parking option inside the city

Everything Around You in the Gare District
Gare is one of the smallest quarters of Luxembourg City by area and one of the most densely served. Almost everything below is a walk rather than a journey.
Everyday shopping and food
Delhaize on Place de la Gare opens from early morning and also trades on Sundays, which covers most weekday gaps. For a larger weekly shop, Cactus on Rue des Gaulois and Monoprix on Rue du Fort Bourbon are both a short walk away. Bakeries and pâtisseries are dense here: Paul and Fischer near Place de la Gare, Hoffmann on Rue Dicks. Around Avenue de la Liberté and Rue de Strasbourg you also have independent grocers, butchers and international food shops covering Portuguese, Italian, Balkan and Asian ranges, which is one of the practical advantages of living in the most multicultural quarter of the capital.
Banking, post and administration
The Gare quarter holds one of the densest concentrations of retail banking in Luxembourg. BGL BNP Paribas and BIL sit on Avenue de la Liberté, BCEE has branches on Avenue de la Gare and Place de Metz, ING is on Place de la Gare, and Intesa Sanpaolo, Banque BCP and Caixa Geral de Depósitos are all within a few hundred metres. POST Luxembourg is on Place de la Gare with a 24/7 cash machine, which matters when you are setting up a new life in the country and need a bank appointment, a post office and a printer in the same afternoon.
Shops and services
Avenue de la Gare is the main retail artery, with the Galerie Mercure arcade, MediaMarkt, Sephora and Sports Direct alongside independent shops. Opticians, pharmacies, hairdressers, barbers, dry cleaners, phone operators and gyms are spread across Avenue de la Liberté, Rue Dicks and the side streets, so you are rarely more than five minutes from whatever you have forgotten.
Transport and connections
This is the best-connected address in the country. Luxembourg Central Station handles national RB and RE services plus international IC, TER and TGV connections towards France, Belgium and Germany. The T1 tram stops at Gare Centrale and at Paräisser Plaz / Place de Paris, running from roughly 04:30 until around 00:35 and crossing the city through Place de Metz, Hamilius and Kirchberg up to Luxexpo. The station is also the main hub of the city bus network, with CN night buses at weekends, and direct buses reach Findel airport from the station area in around 25 minutes. All public transport within Luxembourg is free, so commuting to Kirchberg, Cloche d'Or or Belval costs nothing beyond the time.
Eating out and evenings
Avenue de la Gare, Rue de Strasbourg and Rue Joseph Junck hold one of the widest concentrations of restaurants in the city, covering Portuguese, Italian, Indian, Turkish, Thai and Ethiopian cooking among others, at a broader price range than the Ville Haute. Place de Paris is the natural terrace square for a drink after work, and Rotondes, the cultural venue in two converted railway roundhouses just east of the station, runs concerts, exhibitions, a bar and a summer programme in its outdoor space.
Green space and walks
The Parc de la Pétrusse runs below the Plateau Bourbon and gives you a valley walk within minutes of the studio. Place des Martyrs, known locally as the Rousegärtchen, is a small rose garden a few streets away. The Pont Adolphe carries a dedicated pedestrian and cycle deck beneath the road, so the Ville Haute, the cathedral and the Grand Ducal Palace are roughly ten to fifteen minutes away on foot with a view over the valley on the way.
You can read more about the quarter on our Gare neighbourhood page, or compare it with the other districts we cover in our guide to the 24 quarters of Luxembourg City.
Commuting from the Studio
Public transport is free everywhere in Luxembourg, so the only cost of a commute from here is time. The studio is within walking distance of Luxembourg Central Station, which is the interchange for the T1 tram, the national rail network and the city bus network at once. The journey times below are approximate and depend on the service and the time of day.
| Destination | How | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Ville Haute, the historic centre | On foot, across the Pont Adolphe | 10 to 15 minutes |
| Hamilius | T1 tram | Around 10 minutes |
| Kirchberg, the financial and EU district | T1 tram | Around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the stop |
| Cloche d'Or | Bus | Around 15 to 20 minutes |
| Findel airport | Bus from the station area | Around 25 minutes |
| Esch-sur-Alzette and Belval | Train from Luxembourg Central Station | Around 25 to 35 minutes |
Because the station handles international services towards France, Belgium and Germany as well, weekend travel starts at the end of the street rather than after a connection across the city. Our guide to weekend trips by train from Luxembourg covers the routes in more detail, and free public transport in Luxembourg explains how the national system works for new arrivals.
Questions Tenants Usually Ask
What exactly is included in the rent?
The monthly figure covers building charges, electricity, internet, common-area cleaning and the private garden. There are no separate utility contracts to open in your name and no year-end adjustment on consumption, which is the main practical difference between this studio and a standard unfurnished lease in Luxembourg.
Is the parking space included in the €1,600?
No. The studio is €1,600 per month without parking. A private parking space is available for €100 more, at €1,700 per month, charges still included.
Is there a minimum rental period?
There is no fixed minimum or maximum period. This makes the studio workable for assignments, placements and contracts whose end date is not yet fixed, as well as for long stays.
Is the studio furnished?
Yes. It is fully furnished and equipped, including the open-plan kitchen, a washing machine and a dryer, so it is ready to move into on the first day.
What deposit will I be asked for?
One month of rent, charges included. That is €1,600 for the studio without parking, or €1,700 with the private parking space. Luxembourg law allows up to two months, so this is below the legal ceiling. Our article on security deposits and tenant rights explains how the deposit is held and returned.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are allowed subject to a prior assessment. Tell us what you have when you make contact and we will confirm before a viewing.
When can I move in?
The studio is available from 1 December. Viewings can be arranged before that date.
Can I see the studio before committing?
Yes. Viewings are arranged directly with our team. The fastest route is WhatsApp on +352 621 314 165, or the contact form if you prefer email.
